The short answer
List three journeys: CUN to your first hotel, the move to your second hotel, and that final hotel to the departure airport. Ask which journeys can be arranged and obtain written confirmation for each. A hotel-to-hotel service, changed return route or hotel transport benefit is not automatically included.
Three journeys, not one ordinary round trip
For illustration, a holiday might start in Costa Mujeres and continue in Playa del Carmen. This is a planning example, not a confirmed three-leg product. Identify both properties precisely; the northern Mujeres corridor and the Riviera Maya to the south are different destinations.
CUN → Hotel 1
Provide the arriving flight, Cancún local date and the first hotel's full name, address and section.
Hotel 1 → Hotel 2
Request a separate assessment for moving day, with both entrances, the date, passengers and complete luggage. Confirm whether this journey is available.
Hotel 2 → CUN
Use the second hotel's actual address and departure flight. Do not reuse a pickup from the first hotel.
Plan moving day around luggage and hotel access
Ask Hotel 1 about checkout and collecting stored bags; ask Hotel 2 about arrival access, luggage storage and room availability. These are separate permissions. Agree on a vehicle-accessible reception and a realistic pickup time. Early arrival does not guarantee early check-in, and neither hotel is assumed to store luggage.
Confirm each fare and check included hotel transport
Published CUN zone estimates describe airport routes, not the price between two hotels. Do not add airport fares or drive times to calculate that middle leg. Ask for itemized journeys and the complete total, including accepted extras. Check any hotel-provided airport service against your exact booking, dates and endpoints before buying another ride; it need not cover a resort-to-resort move.
Reconfirm the last airport journey
Check CUN versus TQO on your flight ticket. Plan departure from Hotel 2 using the airline's check-in requirement, the actual road approach and confirmed local pickup date. A beach-road hotel needs its own assessment. If accommodation, luggage or flights change, obtain a revised confirmation rather than assuming the original return still applies.
Questions before a split stay
The useful distinction is between the itinerary you request and the journeys a provider accepts. Keep the booking references for all confirmed legs together, even when different providers are involved.
Does a round trip include changing hotels?
Not automatically. The site's round-trip estimate combines two legs on the same route. Different endpoints and the middle journey must be checked separately.
Can I use an included airport shuttle to reach another hotel?
Only if the hotel or operator explicitly accepts that arrangement. Confirm its conditions; an airport benefit is not proof of an interhotel service.
