Landing time is not pickup time
An airline arrival time is only the start of the airport part of your journey. Immigration, baggage collection and the walk to the confirmed transportation area come before the road transfer. Do not schedule a ferry or restaurant reservation using the drive time alone.
Choose the actual hotel zone
Cancún Hotel Zone, Playa Mujeres and Costa Mujeres are separate routes. Playa del Carmen, Akumal and Tulum extend south along the Riviera Maya. Find your exact property in our hotel directory, then use the drive-time range on its zone page. These ranges are planning estimates rather than live traffic predictions.
Allow for the final approach
A highway arrival does not mean you are at reception. Gated resorts, internal roads and Tulum beach-road traffic can add time. Share the hotel name, section and accessible entrance, particularly for large resort complexes or villa bookings.
Build the return backwards
Start with the airline check-in requirement, then allow for the road journey, expected traffic and a practical pickup buffer. Your written confirmation should state a local pickup date and time. Cancún uses America/Cancun time; check the calendar date for flights shortly after midnight.
